Our Lady of Good Help is a GOOD school!

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am delighted to be able to share with you the outcome of our recent OFSTED inspection that took place on 11th and 12th September 2018, and have enclosed the full report for you to read and share.

Our Lady of Good Help is a GOOD school!

I am so pleased that the inspectors recognised the excellent work that has been undertaken in the last two years and that there have been ‘rapid improvements to all aspects of school life’.

We have been on this journey of improvement together and it is right that the inspectors commented on our ‘reinvigorated community’ and how much school ‘value their relationships with parents’.  It is because of our collective determination for OLGH to be a successful school that we have achieved this excellent outcome.

We all know how precious and special our children are, and it is no surprise that the inspection team also spoke so highly of them. They commented on their good behaviour, how motivated they are to learn and the excellent relationships that we enjoy.

The staff have worked so hard to develop our new curriculum and it is so pleasing that this is also mentioned in the report ‘the school have designed the curriculum with thought and purpose so that pupils make good progress across a range of subjects.’  There is a real learning buzz in school – children enjoy our new topics, are engaged in them and now talk about their learning with passion!

‘Teaching is consistently good’ because staff have embraced the many developments and changes that have taken place in school and have worked tirelessly to ensure their implementation has a positive impact on our children.  Committed staff & governors, motivated children and supportive parents & families, have all contributed to standards at the end of early years, key stage 1 and key stage 2 to be rising, and in some areas to be above national averages.

I could go on and on, but I would rather conclude simply by saying thank you! Children, parents, families, governors, staff and our wider school community have worked to ensure that, together, we put the GOOD back in Our Lady of Good Help!

Yours faithfully

Miss Peacock
