Year 6

Key Information for Year 6

Homework is set on Google Classroom every Friday and should be completed by the following Wednesday.
It will include reading and spelling as well as an English and maths activity based on the week’s learning.

Reading Books
Children choose books that are matched to their reading ability. Children must ensure they bring their book into school every day and that their reading records are kept up-to-date and signed by parents, even those who are free-readers.

Every week, children will take 12 spellings home to learn. These spellings will consist of 4 statutory words, 4 words which include the week’s spelling rule and 4 words related to the current class learning. Each day, Monday to Thursday, the children will be tested on the 3 spellings for that day. On Friday, the children will have the opportunity to revisit all 12 spellings for that week.

P.E. is every Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure that your child comes into school wearing their PE kit on these days.
